This Week...

First of all I just wanted to address the changes that have occurred on Bits & Bobs over the past week. For those of you who are eagle eyed regular readers of my blog you'll have noticed that my posting schedule has pretty much changed, aside from It's Monday! and This Week..., and this is because I'm trying something new - I did say the original schedule wasn't set in stone! I was keen to take Bits & Bobs in a slightly different direction when it came to the book aspect of the blog. Overall, I want my blog to be very interactive and conversational, the socialising side of blogging is something I enjoy very much (I love comments!) and so I wanted my posting schedule to reflect that. With this new schedule, my blog remains predominantly a book blog (I say Monday - Friday I'm a book blog) however the content has changed. Here's a quick rundown of what you can expect from me on a weekly basis...

Monday - It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Wednesday - Wishlist Box
Friday - Let's Talk
Sunday - This Week

You may be wondering where I'll be sharing my thoughts on the books I have read, well, for the time being my thoughts will be shared in a monthly post in which I wrap up my reads for the month.

Once again, I reiterate, this schedule is not set in stone. There are some other things I would like to incorporate in to my blog, however those won't be anytime in the very near future.

Now you may be wondering why all the change Jade... Well I'm a believer in change. Some people may see it as being 'unreliable' or 'inconsistent', however change is a way in which one can figure out what is the best for them and what works for them - and that's what I'm trying to do with my posting schedule.

Moving on to the events of this past week....

Walking is a pastime of mine that I enjoy a lot. Whilst living in London there wasn't much opportunity to explore scenery and surroundings - I'm not saying there aren't areas of London that can be explored; I just mean that living in a more rural location allows me to get out a bit more as greenery is on my doorstep, so to speak. Since the start of 2014, the weather hasn't really permitted us to get out and wander, that and the copious amount of deliveries of various things we had ordered. Said deliveries have almost ceased now and the wind and rain have calmed themselves considerably, so on Wednesday afternoon we took a little walk. The weather wasn't great by any means, we were all well wrapped up in layers, however I did manage to take a few pictures and reap the benefits of one of my favourite pastimes. I wanted to share a few of those pictures with you all.

A smidgen of blue sky peaking through the hilltops and trees

Would you want to live in a house like this? It's basically in the middle of a mass of trees

That blue sky didn't last for long - luckily it waited until we arrived home to rain

I hope you all had a lovely week... How was your week? Is there anything you're looking forward to in the coming week? Feel free to let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for stopping by Bits & Bobs :-)

  1. Lovely photos! I was lucky enough to take a trip to Scotland about 2 years ago and some of my favorite photos were from walking around in the greenery. It wasn't sunny, but still so beautiful :)

    1. We are lucky to have some lovely landscape here in the UK - I don't think it's always taken advantage of though. I'm glad you got to enjoy and experience that on your travels to Scotland.
Whilst scenery does tend to look better when the sun is shining, you don't need the good weather to enjoy said scenery.

  2. It is good to have a schedule, and it is even better to know when not to stick to it!
    Have a great week,

    1. That is very true Bettina. A schedule should be what works for you as an individual and sometimes you just need to switch things up.
      And to you!

  3. Lovely photos, I really enjoy walking too. I used to run a lot before getting pregnant, and it's now been replaced by walking. We're lucky enough to be near some green belt countryside, and it's a really nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

    1. Walking was most definitely my 'thing' whilst pregnant. We moved to where we are now during my pregnancy so there was plenty of exploring to do.
I'm sure that proves to be a pleasant activity on a Sunday.

  4. Good luck with your blog changes, hope you like your new schedule. It's nice to get out in the countryside- we live in the city and don't get out in the country nearly as much as we'd like. Nice pictures!

    1. I'm definitely enjoying the new schedule so far - it's great to write a discussion type post on a weekly basis.
It's easy to get caught up with city living sometimes. I always found the warmer months to be the time when I got out to the country the most when living in a city.
